Delightful Combination

Leipzigs Skyline and my drawing

This combination happened by accident more or less. I needed something to put the lense on, so that I got a focused picture while doing a long exposure. Well, a fisheye lense can be quite tricky. ;-)

I still like this picture a lot!

A poppy field

Good morning. Have a wonderful new week everyone. Mine will be filled to the brim.

I took this picture during Chris and my bycicle tour in May, where she took her stunning bumble bee pictures.

Untergang/ doom

In Leipzig nennt es sich "Unterführung" in München "Untergang".

(Untergang = doom. In actual fact meant: underpass = Unterführung)

Offensichtlich haben sich auch schon andere zum Thema Untergang Gedanken gemacht.

Chris

Boredom?

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

The end of the tunnel

I took this in Wolkenburg under railbridge. Lovely isn't it?

++ And now a bit of shameless selfpromotion, new products in my DaWanda-Shop. ;) ++

This is an A5 drawing of mine, I called it "Farbliche Leichtigkeit" (colourful lightness).

If you want to buy it, you'll find it here:
http://de.dawanda.com/product/20178693-Farbliche-Leichtigkeit
(15€ + shipping)

The second new product is a set of three A4 drawings. I called the set "3 Farben Grün-Blau-Schwarz" (3 colours green-blue-black).

If you want to buy the set, you'll find it here:
http://de.dawanda.com/product/20179373-Drei-Farben---Gruen-Blau-Schwarz---Set
(33€ +shipping)

Yeah, I know I have to work on the titles. However these are original drawings and when do you get something like this for such a price like this?!

++ End of the selfpromotion! ++

Have a wonderful Friday and weekend everyone!

The beauty of a wooden castle entrance

I took this picture in Wolkenburg (Saxony) at their castle. I have an even better picture, but that I will post on my own blog http://the-man-made-project.blogspot.com/2011/06/castle-gate-from-different-point-of.html.

The Wave-Gothic-Meeting has blown over without me taking even one picture of those amazing people and their costumes. Yeah, you could say I stayed true to my nature with not photographing people. However I found out that there is a term for the kind of style I'm going for clothingwise, it's called Steampunk. I love it, I think I finally found my people. ;-) At least clothingwise, can't say so for the music. XD A really good Steampunk gallery you find here: http://clockworker.tumblr.com/
For a gallery of stunning costumes from the Wave-Gothic-Meeting look here: http://nachrichten.lvz-online.de/citynews-wgt-picknick/r-detailansicht-galerie-2093-47581.html

Instead I went on a guided boattour last evening, which was entertaining and eyeopening. I know this is a bit mean to say, when Chris is so homesick, but I really love Leipzig and it becomes more amazing every day. Leipzig has been one of the richest cities in Germany before World War II. We have a huge waternetwork and it's becoming even bigger. They already put the watersigns up for a way that will be free from 2016!!! Yes, in 2016 you'll be abled to paddle from the big lakes in the south all the way through the city up too the Auenlake in the north. How amazing is that?! We've got amazing architecture all throughout the city, our wetland woods are going right through the city (10 minutes of walking from the city center!), cultural festivals galore (Bach, Wave-Gothic-Meeting, this year we have a Mahler Festival) and slowly we are gaining speed when it comes to business too. I tell you loud and proud (for I was born and raised in this city) LEIPZIG IS TRULY AWESOME!

And I really want to help my city to get back on track and help it get ahead of cities like Munich and Stuttgart.

SANSSOUCI - No Worries

Last Saturday I've been to SANSSOUCI Park in Potsdam, so naturally I have a few impressions for you.

The Dragon house. It is lovely to look at, but the food is overpriced and not good. I've had an Ice Coffee and it was horrible (watery and the icecream left a film in my mouth. ugh and that for 4,20€ I prefer any Starbucks coffee any time.)

Potsdam is definitely a city I could live in happily. Stuttgart and Munich would be my nightmare cities, because of the horrible architecture and the missing water and parks.

Photographic set-up

Last year in April I wanted to test out different light situations, so I played around with product photography and this is one of the setups, with my Nikon F90 on a tripod and the tabe with the products.

Have a great Sunday and then a good start into the new week.

bumble-bee

descent...

touchdown...

...and as busy as a bee!

Liebe San! Es war ein wunderbarer Ausflug mit Dir :)

Chris

Is it just around the corner?!

I took this photo during my vacation in March. I loved these wooden paths, somehow they made it even more interesting.

However this picture is also symbolic for my current life. I'm going my way and always hope that after the next turn I'll finally reach at least one of my goals. As I write this (Tuesday evening, did I mention that I HATE Tuesdays?!) I'm in a bad and slightly forlorn mood (which is always happening on Tuesdays, even when I was on vacation in Dublin!). Luckily tomorrow is another day and I can make headway towards my goals. Someday I'll reach them, it's just a matter of time and persistance. Now, where is my chocolate?
