Street Festival at the "Kö" in Leipzig on June 1st

The "Kö" is the Könneritzstreet in Leipzig's west and there will be a street festival at the afternoon of June 1st this year. The big news:

I will take part with a stall and offering my (printed) postcard-sets, ornamental drawings and photographies there!

Exciting, eh? Well at least it is for me. And there'll be a whole lot of work during the next few weeks. I'll have to draw a lot and decide which drawings and photos to print, etc.

Happy Memories for Chris and Moi: 4th post - The Crouching Photographer

Since Chris asked me to post a few more Leipzig photos this week because she is so homesick for Leipzig, I created this post series for her. I hope this comforts you a bit.

I think this was in February 2010, I had just bought my Lomo Fisheye2 and learned how to use it. Chris and I went to the Markkleeberger See and there we took a lot of pictures. In this picture you can see Chris crouching to get a certain picture.

The end of the photo exhibition F/STOP?

What will happen to F/STOP?

It's an annual international festival of contemporary photography in Leipzig.

The first F/STOP was held in 2007 and it seems that the 4th exhibition in 2010 was the last one (?)

The reason: not enough money.

Leipzig is a cosmopolitan and lively city, where the art and artists have the possibility to develop. It's a pity, that new concepts fail because of the lack of funds.

Why is F/STOP so special for me?

The ever changing and unusual exhibtion locations: old fair houses, empty shops, pubs, old factory complexes like the "Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei", they even used private apartments.

To me it is the perfect mixture of contemporary photographic art, international artists and guests, the city of Leipzig and their people.

I hope this festival of photographic art will survive and come back in 2012!
